Many of us have been spending a lot of time in the same four walls. Are you sick of the same old wallpaper, the decorating, the furniture? Maybe you’re not even sleeping that well. That could be down to the bed you’re sleeping on and the bedroom you’re spending time in. When was the last time you spruced up your home? Now is the time to Invest some time, money and effort in making your dreams a reality.
Distraction Free
Is your bedroom a little slice of heaven allowing you to properly relax? Probably not. Not many are! Having a distraction-free bedroom leads to better sleep. That might even mean banning technology from the room. Checking your emails on your phone last thing at night isn’t a good way to switch off and prepare for sleep. Even having your phone in the bedroom can be a distraction as we all automatically reach out for it for a sense of connection. If you’re missing out on decent sleep because you think “just one more episode” to yourself, it might be worth getting rid of the television too.
Proper Storage
The items you own can also be distracting. A lack of proper storage, storage that really works for you, can be a problem. Nobody wants things on show all the time. You need drawers, shelves, a dressing table. It could even be investing in and installing Walk in Wardrobes. That would certainly give you plenty of space to keep your belongings and organise your outfits. A place for everything and everything in its place, as the saying goes. Become the envy of all your friends by installing a designer walk in space for all your clothes!
Furniture & Lighting
As well as furniture for storage, bedroom furniture is also about giving you a space which works for you. your furniture needs to be functional but that doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish too. Add a chair to sit in to read your pile of books on the bedside table. Choose a bed frame that you’re not banging your big toe into. Mirrors will give you somewhere to check how you look but also make small spaces look bigger. A huge window will light up your space and bounce around the mirrors too. You might consider some black out curtains which will aid your sleep as well.
An En Suite Shower Room
Perhaps you’ve had enough of sharing the household bathroom? Queuing for the bathroom behind other members of your family can be a nightmare. Your dream bedroom may include an en suite shower room, with toilet and basin. This gives you a personal and private space to get washed, clean your teeth and visit the loo in the middle of the night.
Now is the time to write down your ideas, those things that you want from your wonderful bedroom. Once you’ve done that, you can start putting your plans into action. Before you know it, you’ll be laying on a comfortable mattress admiring the dream space you’ve created.
