Collaborative Post
Do you find the weekend hard to navigate? You’ve been at work all week and the kids have been at school. Everyone is exhausted and needs a bit of down time to enjoy doing things they want to do, however there are also jobs that need doing that you haven’t managed to get around to during the week. How do you enjoy doing things with the kids whilst also giving yourself time to relax and get that housework done? Let’s have a look.
Get Outside
Save messing up the house even more than it already is and get outside for a few hours. If you’ve been bundled up in the workplace and classroom all week, getting some fresh air in your lungs and space to roam free can be liberating. Nature is healing and can help your wellbeing and overall health. So get to a forest for a walk through the woods or see if there is a trek around the nearby reservoir. This can be enjoyed whatever the weather, just wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors. Splash in puddles, skim stones, climb trees, make memories! Even if it’s just a walk down to the local park it can help you clear your mind, refocus and feel refreshed.
Play Together
There’s nothing quite like playing together as a family. Whatever your kids are into, get involved. It could be kicking a football around in the yard, playing a board game or even doing some jigsaws. Action figures, garden games and even video games can be a great way to have fun together. You could even give that old dolls house that has been passed down from generation to generation a new lease of life. You can get Miniature Dolls House Wallpaper which applies directly over the existing papers and is also water and scratch resistant. Your little ones will love their redecorated dolls house, have a newfound interest in it and be playing with it for years to come! Think of those future generations who will love playing with it too!
Cook Together & Eat As A Family
How about teaching your kids life skills without them really knowing about it? You can make some fantastic food this weekend whilst also getting the children involved and helping them with their futures. So many students turn up at university not knowing how to cook but if you can instil this passion for cooking from an early age, they’ll be able to look after themselves and cook from scratch in the future. You’re going to have to eat this weekend, so why not prepare a meal together and then enjoy eating it as a family? Homemade pizza, pasta bakes, salads, stir fry and perhaps casseroles. Decide together, prep together, cook together and enjoy it around the dining table together.
You need not be worried about the weekend. Whilst we all need down time and our own space to destress, enjoying time together is so important. Enjoy things from the past, plan for the future and have loads of fun whilst you’re at it.
